En Piste welcomes the circus world to Montréal
17 June 2010

Montreal, June 16, 2010 - En Piste, the National Circus Arts Network, is proud to announce that the World Circus Federation, for the first time in its history, will be holding a meeting for its board of directors outside of Europe. In fact, En Piste, one of the founding members of the Federation, will be welcoming this event to the North American continent. For the occasion, members from the board of directors will be coming from South Africa, Europe, Australia and the United States.

Other guests will be joining us from around the world as during that same week, Cirque du Soleil, along with En Piste and the World Circus Federation, have scheduled an international meeting to discuss preserving circus history and artefacts.

All activities will take place in the Cité des arts du cirque de Montréal. This collection of buildings dedicated to the circus arts includes TOHU, a round performance space created especially for circus shows, the international headquarters of Cirque du Soleil, the National Circus School and En Piste.

A wide variety of activities will be offered to participants, including the possibility of seeing the latest Cirque du Soleil show – TOTEM, as well as performances by 2010 graduates of the National Circus School, and an exhibition on costumes used by the Cirque de Soleil.

A reminder: these industry meetings will also lead up to the first annual MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CIRQUE, an international festival of the circus arts which will take place from 8 till 25 July 2010
